Men's T-Th Summer Drop-in times
Start times after June 1 are:
Men's drop-in times at Cimarron starting May 21 as Jack Josse recommended:
Players meet at our start site 20 minutes before start time. This provides time for signup, court assignments, drawing numbers and announcements. Currently CAM requires that all participants show their CAM card when signing in for the session. This is an association requirement. The monitor for the day signs in first. Players at Chaparral draw for starting court assignments. We ensure everyone plays by working in players who draw a number beyond an even set of foursomes. The monitor for the session automatically gets number ‘2’ in the draw for the group. He does not need to draw for a court assignment. The first person in each foursome is expected to provide a new can of balls for the first set. Each of the other players in the foursome is expected to provide 50 cents to defray the cost of the can of balls. A set has a time limit of 30 minutes or a total of 8 games whichever comes first. A set is won by the first pair to win five games. All games are "no add" and decided by a single point if tied. The recieving pair has a choice of who gets the tie breaking service. Play stops after 30 minutes (as close as possible) to fit four sets into the session. Players move to new courts after the set is completed. Winners move to a 'higher' court and the other pair moves to a "lower" court. Partners from the previous set will separate so pairs are not duplicated for the new set. Guests (residents who are non-members) according to CAM rules can play in club sponsored activities three times before they must join the tennis club. Resident guests do not need to complete a liability waiver at sign in. Non-residents who are residing with a resident must be accompanied by their resident sponsor. Visitors who reside in another community are not eligible to play in club functions. Before playing in club sponsored events a non-resident must sign in, complete and sign a liability waiver for each day's play. CAM requires players to show their CAM card and proof of tennis club membership at drop-ins and other club functions. revised May 28, 2014 Walt Volland |
