A reservation cannot be longer than two hours. You can choose to make a reservation for one hour. The software automatically inserts your name in the reservation display for the time you selected.

10. How does my group reserve more than one court when we need multiple courts for 8 or more players?to top
It will be necessary for you to enlist other members of your group ( spouses or friends) to sign into the system and reserve the additional courts. Remember it may prove difficult to reserve adjacent courts (courts 3 and 4 for example). If you get with separated courts you can use the reservation page to see who has the court you want. You can "trade" courts so both groups will have adjacent courts. This "trade" would not have to be made on-line. to top
11. Are reserved courts labeled so they show who reserved them? to top
Yes, the name of the person who makes a reservation is visible on the display of the day’s schedule.
http://holdmycourt.com/reserve2/gtc_tennis
12. Can two people reserve the same court for the same time? to top
No, the system is first come first served. Only one reservation can be made for the same court. It is virtually impossible to have two people succeed to reserve a court simultaneously.
13. If my spouse and I share the same email address can we both reserve courts?
Yes, but you can only reserve one court per day for one email address. You need to create a second email account so you both can make reservations on the same day. Typically email providers allow for multiple addresses. Free email accounts are available through hotmail, gmail, Yahoo and other similar services. to top
14. How will I know which courts are available? to top
After you open the holdmycourt page you will see a listing of the available dates for making a reservation across the top of the page. Click on the date you want. You will then see a display showing scheduled hours of play for 14 available courts (Adobe and Cimarron).
The times are hourly from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The courts and times for men's and women's drop-in, afternoon drop-in, team matches, league play, etc. will be blocked off and high-lighted in different colors. These courts and times are obviously not available.
Courts that have already been reserved by individuals will have their names in the their selected time slot. The slots with a time in them are available. They can be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis.
15. Will all of the courts be blocked out on drop-in days for the drop-in sessions?
We do not do that now and it will not be done in the future. The club monitors participation in the drop-in sessions. The number of courts blocked out is based on participation during previous weeks. to top
16. Can I play on an unused court during drop-in sessions?
Certainly, current policy allows for this. Our policy has not changed. It is what has been done for years. Drop-in players are generally on the courts by the top of the hour. If a court is unused 10 minutes after the hour, then it is available for open play on a first-come-first-serve basis. to top
17. If I decide I want to play tennis in the next few hours how can I determine what courts available? to top
You can access the reservation page at
http://www.holdmycourt.com/reserve2/gtc_tennis
The display will show the reservations for the current day. The reservation page for that day only shows reservations made on-line. The displayed reservations were made before the prior day’s 5 pm cutoff time. A walkup same day ‘reservation’ will not be displayed. A walkup may be using an unclaimed court.
The on-line display for same day reservations is locked. This is why a paper ‘day sheet’ is posted everyday. There is a day sheet posted on the bulletin boards at Cimarron and Adobe/Chaparral. All sign-ups on the actual day of play are made in person on the posted day sheet. A court may appear to be available when the same day reservations are viewed online, but a walk up player may have claimed it at the courts. Once you have determined that courts are potentially available you can try your luck by going to the courts. When you are at court side you can (1) sign up for an open court and protect the time slot or (2) begin play on a unclaimed court. to top
18. How do I cancel a reservation? to top
Canceling a reservation is easy. You can cancel a reservation by first signing into http://www.holdmycourt.com/reserve2/gtc_tennis.
You click on the time for the reservation you want to cancel. You will then see a screen saying you have reserved the court. You are given the option to delete the reservation. If you select the 'delete' option, then you will again see the reservation screen. Your name will no longer appear in the time slot. You will also receive an email confirming that you cancelled your reservation. The day, time and court involved will be identified in the email. to top
19. Who do I contact if I have a problem or suggestion for the on-line reservations system?
Contact any member of the GTC board. Their phone numbers and email addresses are here
20. How will the club deal with abuses of the system? to top
Harshly, we are considering public flogging on the stadium court. This will happen only if our CAM code regarding civil behavior allows corporal punishment.
Very few 'abuses' are possible with the new system. Signing up is controlled by the software. This eliminates the old problem where people signed up before the official start time. People are creative so "gaming the system" may happen. If it becomes apparent that a person is abusing the system by reserving multiple courts for an entire morning, or repeatedly making reservations and not canceling when they are not used, then that person will be at risk of losing reservation privileges. If a problem cannot be resolved informally inside the club then it may need to be referred to the Activities Office.
21. How are drop-in sessions going to handle ‘overflow”? to top
This is traditional problem and not new with the online reservation system. We set aside courts for drop-in sessions based on participation trends. If more players sign in than anticipated and there are not enough pre-assigned courts, then the session monitor will assign players to open courts. Open courts are empty ones or ones that are not reserved. Monitors will only match players with empty courts. As in the past a "sit-out rotation" will be used if all players cannot be matched with a court. No player will sit out more than one set.
